Owner Jones is shooting his mouth at wrong target

Cowboys fans were waiting for owner Jerry Jones to light a fire under his team and inspire them to win in December and make the playoffs. On Sunday, Jones spoke out about Dallas’ situation, but the words he chose didn’t inspire anyone. He criticized running back Marion Barber, who was sidelined with a toe injury, and questioned his toughness.
Jennifer Floyd Engel of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram writes that Jones should be angry about his team’s performance, but not with Barber:
- Of all the yahoos on this Cowboys team right now, he elects to kill Barber. He has earned like 457 benefit of the doubts. He and Jason Witten have lifetime passes on any toughness charges. Both have proven themselves willing to endure crazy amounts of punishment and pain to help this Cowboys team win. MORE
