Broncos will deactivate Bailey, Williams

Denver is going to have to do without two of its top defensive players for at least another week, possibly two.
The Broncos will deactivate both cornerback Champ Bailey and linebacker D.J. Williams for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Bailey was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, Williams doubtful. The Broncos believe that one or both players could return from their injuries next Sunday at Carolina, but not against the Chiefs.
Bailey will miss his sixth straight game Sunday and has not played since straining his groin Oct. 20 at New England. Williams will miss his fifth straight game Sunday after he sprained his knee during Denver’s next game Nov. 2 against Miami.
Denver’s defense has been shaky without Bailey and Williams, but the Broncos hope it will improve once their standouts return.
