Vikings add veteran Kennedy

If their roster move on Wednesday is any indication, the Vikings clearly expect to be without suspended starting defensive tackles Kevin and Pat Williams on Sunday against the Lions.
The Vikings signed veteran free agent DT Jimmy Kennedy on Wednesday, who was most recently with the Jaguars before he was released in November. Kennedy, a former first-round pick (No. 12 overall by the Rams, three picks after the Vikings selected Kevin Williams), joins a rotation that likely includes Ellis Wyms, Fred Evans and Letroy Guion.
Coach Brad Childress made his first public comments on Wednesday since the suspensions were announced, saying the Vikings are preparing to be without the Williamses, regardless of any pending legal action. Kennedy’s signing shows the Vikings’ thinking.
