Portis, Barber sit; Jackson to see more touches

Running backs are going to be a little dinged up and miss practice this late in the season. And it’s going to happen, whether you like it or not. Though, that can’t be comforting to Clinton Portis and Marion Barber owners. Both stars missed practice on Wednesday and likely will be questionable heading into Week 14.

Both running backs face daunting matchups this week, and Barber was the only one to break into Mr. Fabiano’s Top 20 in the fantasy rankings this week.

So what do you do?

The obvious answer: hope that neither player can suit up this week and take the decision out of your hands. Who needs that kind of pressure? Otherwise, it’s hard to sit your stars.

Mr. Fabiano also put together Wednesday’s injury report. Some of the highlights:

  • Willie Parker didn’t practice and Ben Roethlisberger was limited. Parker will likely still start against the Cowboys, but could lose some touches. If you are still relying on Roethlisberger as your starter, you probably aren’t going to the playoffs anyway.
  • Steven Jackson was limited in practice, but reports out of St. Louis indicate that he’s going to receive more touches this week. The Cardinals do have a tough run defense that was lit up by Brian Westbrook last week. But the Birds defense has had 10 days to think about that.
  • Reggie Bush and Marques Colston are not listed on the injury report. Finally. Colston has put together good fantasy stat lines in consecutive weeks, which should take the sting away from owners who used a high draft pick on him.
