Substantial shoes to fill in Minnesota

Here’s today’s question of the day, with ramifications from Minnesota to Chicago to Green Bay:
Do you know who Ellis Wyms and Fred Evans are? Football soon will.

Wyms and Evans are the defensive tackles expected to step in and replace Pat and Kevin Williams in the Vikings starting lineup. Minnesota’s chances of winning the NFC North now rest partially with Wyms and Evans, two players few football fans know.

Evans is in his third season and has never started an NFL game. He was a seventh-round pick by the Dolphins in 2006 out of Texas State.

Wyms is in his eighth season. He started nine games for the Buccaneers in 2005-06. Wyms was a sixth-round pick by Tampa Bay in 2001 out of Mississippi State.
