Cassel matching Rodgers’ numbers

Earlier this season, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers signed a six-year, $65 million contract.

Now, it’s not hard to guess what Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel will be looking for when he hits the market this winter with the same agent that landed Rodgers that deal.

If Rodgers is worth $65 million, it will not be hard for Cassel to argue why he is worth as much. Take a look at how the two quarterbacks’ statistics compare through 11 games of the season. It’s eerie.

Player Games Comp. Att. Yds. Avg. Long TD Int. Rtg.
Matt Cassel 11 238 359 2,615 7.3 66 13 8 90.5
Aaron Rodgers 11 228 359 2,599 7.2 62 17 9 90.5
