Anyone who would trade Tom Brady…

And use Matt Cassel as their starting quarterback, in fantasy or reality, needs to have their head examined.

Cassel did have two solid games against the Jets and Dolphins, but those defenses ranked in the lower half of the league against the pass. Against the Steelers, who have the league’s best defense, Cassel has thrown for 130 yards with no touchdowns and two turnovers.

While it’s true that the weather conditions were tough and his receivers dropped some passes, this is all the proof you need that Cassel’s no Tom Brady. He’s a matchups-based quarterback in fantasy leagues … that’s it.

With that said, I’d start him next week against the Seahawks. They’re pass defense is one of the worst in the NFL.
