Washington applies lessons learned from Martin

They never played a game together, never even practiced together, but Leon Washington spent a season with Curtis martin, watching, listening and learning. It was 2006, when Washington was getting started in the NFL and Martin was bidding a long, painful farewell to football, writes Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News.
“The thing I saw from Curtis, why I knew he was so great, was the way he took notes,” Washington said. “He has the best handwriting I’ve ever seen – the best. If you look at his autograph, the way he signs for someone, it shows how much detail he puts into whatever he does in life. When I watched him take notes in a meeting, his notes were perfect – perfect.” More.
