Texans’ Schaub making progress from injury

Texans coach Gary Kubiak isn’t making predictions, but he wouldn’t rule out the return of QB Matt Schaub during his session with the media on Wednesday. Kubiak indicated Schaub has made improvement since last week and is “day to day” as the Texans prepare to host the Jaguars.

“He’s making progress,” Kubiak said. “That’s all I can tell you. He’s a lot closer to playing right now than he was a week ago. … He’ll be out there today on his own doing some work and I’m hoping he can do some things with the team tomorrow.”

Schaub, who took part in a limited portion of practice Wednesday, has missed the past three games with a injured medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
