Sapp, Jenkins sit down on NFL GameDay Morning

If there’s only one pregame interview you watch on Sunday, you might want to set your DVR for Warren Sapp‘s sit-down with Jets defensive tackle Kris Jenkins on the NFL Network’s NFL GameDay Morning.
No one thought this interview would ever happen. Not even Jenkins himself. The two have had a longstanding feud since their days together in the NFC South, when Sapp was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jenkins with the Carolina Panthers.
In a 2005 interview, Jenkins displayed his disdain for Sapp:
- “I hate him. Everybody says I’m supposed to be polite when I talk to you all, but I hate him. He talks too much, he doesn’t make sense, he’s fat, he’s sloppy, he acts like he’s the best thing since sliced bread. He’s ugly, he stinks, his mouth stinks, his breath stinks, and basically his soul stinks, too. Not too many people have personalities like that and survive in life. I don’t know how he does it.”
In a recent blog post on the New York Daily News’ web site, Jenkins said he regretted “being unprofessional,” but that he didn’t regret what he said. Asked how he’d feel if Sapp, as a member of the media, interviewed him, Jenkins replied: “I don’t know if we’re ready for that yet.”
Apparently he is now. The interview is scheduled for NFL GameDay Morning, which airs every Sunday on the NFL Network starting at 10 a.m.
