Payton not concerned over Bush recovery

The Saints and coach Sean Payton continue to play the weekly waiting game with injured RB Reggie Bush, who has missed the last month following surgery to repair torn cartiledge in his left knee on Oct. 20. For the second straight week, Payton said Bush felt better on Wednesday and conveyed his optimism about his return. Bush returned to practice intermittently over two weeks ago.

Payton conceeded he is not concerned over how long Bush’s recovery has taken.

“No, I think we were and he was hopeful that maybe he could come back off of this thing maybe earlier than expected and in the end, with the position that he’s playing and the way that he runs, it has just taken that time,” said Payton. “I think he’s going to be back and hopefully this weekend.”
