Jaguars’ Jones should learn fate soon

For weeks, speculation has swirled around Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones and whether he would be suspended.

But now, the day of reckoning is drawing closer. Jones said his appeal of a three-game suspension will be held Dec. 4 at the NFL’s New York offices.

With the hearing Dec. 4, the league could make a ruling before Jacksonville’s Dec. 7 game in Chicago against the Bears. It also would be the Jaguars’ 12th game of the season, so if Jones’ appeal were unsuccessful, he could wind up serving his suspension this season and not have it carry over into next season.
