Will McNabb be this off-season’s Favre?

If Green Bay could trade Brett Favre, then Philadelphia could trade Donovan McNabb.
McNabb could turn into this off-season’s Favre, a quarterback who is dangled. In fact, there are those around the league who believe one reason Minnesota and Chicago did not aggressively pursue an established quarterback last off-season was because they might have the chance to land Eagles quarterback McNabb this off-season.
Now it’s hard to imagine this was the driving force behind either team’s thinking, but it is conceivable to think that each team wondered whether it would be able to take a stab at McNabb.
Should Philadelphia fall short of the playoffs this season, and right now it is a half-game out, then the Eagles are going to be forced to consider significant changes. One would have to involve McNabb.
Of course if the Eagles make the late-season push they have regularly done, and make the playoffs, then all the speculation surrounding McNabb goes away, just as it did last season.
