Warner vs. Manning, Giants an interesting meeting

And isn’t this both interesting and fitting. Kurt Warner’s last start as quarterback of the New York Giants came Nov. 14, 2004 — in Arizona.

Warner went 19-of-30 for 193 yard and a touchdown and found himself benched the next week for Eli Manning. In Manning’s first NFL start on Nov. 21, 2004 against the Atlanta Falcons, Manning completed 17 of 37 passes for 162 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

From that point on, the job has belonged to Manning, though Warner did play again in mop-up duty later in the season.

Now both men start Sunday in the desert.
