Jacobs, Ross expected to play for Giants

Word out of the desert is that Giants running back Brandon Jacobs and cornerback Aaron Ross will play despite their injuries, a team official confirmed Sunday morning.

Jacobs has been battling a knee injury, Ross a hamstring. Each player’s presence would be invaluable. Jacobs would help sustain a running game that could keep Arizona’s aeriel attack off the field, and Ross will help cover the game’s most dynamic receiving tandem, Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin.

The Giants also think wide receiver Plaxico Burress will play, though that is pending his pregame warmup. If Burress feels as good as the Giants hope, he will play. Hours before the game, the Giants are optimistic, but one never quite knows with Burress.
