Eerie sight in Buffalo

The worst part of Monday night’s 29-27 loss to Cleveland had to be the eerie familiarity of it all.

Bills kicker Rian Lindell missed a late 47-yard field goal wide right, just as former Buffalo kicker Scott Norwood missed a late 47-yard field goal wide right in Super Bowl XXV in January 1991.

Thus the most painful phrase in Buffalo sports history — 47 yards, wide right — got drudged up on a night when the Bills were trying to remain in playoff contention.

It doesn’t get any worse in Buffalo.
