Already time to talk playoff scenarios

The success of Arizona’s season to date can best be measured in the fact that playoff scenarios already can be computed.
If the Cardinals beat the visiting Giants on Sunday, San Francisco loses at Dallas and Seattle loses or ties visiting Washington, Arizona will clinch the NFC West title.
Even if it is not this weekend, it certainly does not seem to be far off and, at this point, is a mere formality.
Similarly, in the AFC, the Tennessee Titans already can clinch a playoff spot with a victory over the New York Jets, plus a Miami loss or tie to New England, a Baltimore loss or tie to Philadlephia and a Pittsburgh loss to Cincinnati.
It’s an unlikely combination, true, but like Arizona, it’s only a matter of time before the Titans wrap up the AFC South division title and home-field advantage in the AFC.
