Titans’ 10-0 start is part make-believe

Here’s some good news for Titans fans. Of the ten previous teams to start 10-0 since the 1970 merger, seven have reached the Super Bowl and five have won it all. (Just don’t tell them that the last team to start 10-0, New England last season, didn’t win it all.)

Tennessean columnist David Climer is having a hard time digesting the fact that the Titans are undefeated.

    Frankly, I’m starting to wonder. The events of yet another Sunday and yet another victory are enough to make us all step back and take another long, hard look at the Titans. Make that the 10-0 Titans. This 24-14 conquest of Jacksonville sent yet another message. On a day when the Titans looked quite vulnerable and trailed 14-3 at halftime, this team imposed its will after intermission and made believers out of the Jaguars. MORE

Tennessean staff writer Jim Wyatt says that the Titans’ win was of biblical proportions.

    On this day, Goliath held his own. The Titans were staggering in a difficult first half, but when the dust cleared they remained king of the mountain — still undefeated after a 24-14 victory over the Jaguars on Sunday. Turns out it’s going to take more to beat this bunch. MORE
