Walker’s disappointing season ends early

An unproductive season for Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker ended Thursday, when he learned he will have to have a pin placed in his ankle.

The injury happened in last week’s loss to the Panthers. Walker said the bone is separated at the ankle and he will undergo surgery Friday morning.

Oakland shelled out big money for Walker last offseason and got little out of him. Now the question is whether Walker will play again for the Raiders. He has a $4 million option bonus payment that the Raiders might not pick up.
