Uneasy flashback for Culpepper vs. Panthers

It’s bad enough that Daunte Culpepper has to try to rally winless Detroit to a victory. But Sunday’s matchup versus the Carolina Panthers presents even more uncomfortable memories.

Culpepper’s last start vs. the Panthers came on Oct. 30, 2005 in what turned out to be Culpepper’s final game with the Vikings. In that game, on the final play of the first quarter, Culpepper tore the ACL, MCL and PCL in his right knee. He never played for Minnesota again.

Now Culpepper gets those same Panthers, this time playing for the winless Lions.
