Portis unlikely to play, Betts should return

Redskins running back Clinton Portis is unlikely to play on Sunday. Instead the team will look to Dr. Do Itch Big to carry the load against the Cowboys. Seriously, are the Redskins required to put Portis’ alter-egos on the injury report, too?
That would certainly be a new level of gamesmanship in this heated rivalry if Jim Zorn stood at the podium and deadpanned, “Hey, I knew Clinton wasn’t going to play, but Bud Foxx said he was good to go.”
Redskins running back Ladell Betts should be ready to start against the Cowboys. Betts returned to practice on Thursday after missing the last three games. Betts would be a risky start, even though the Cowboys are near the middle of the pack in rushing defense. This will be the first live-game action for Betts, who also figures to give some carries away to Shaun Alexander.
Proceed with caution, and look for some other opportunities.
