49ers’ Singletary, Davis bury the hatchet

Mike Singletary‘s outburst and action towards 49ers tight end Vernon Davis drew plenty of attention. Singletary’s apology to Davis did not.
On Monday, Singletary sat down with Davis and apologized to him, saying they needed to learn from their mistakes, one high-ranking 49ers official confirmed. Eight days earlier, Singletary sent Davis to the locker room and the showers during the last time San Francisco played.
After thinking about punishing Davis in the way he did and talking about “cancers” in the 49ers locker room, Singletary felt bad about it. Singletary is said to believe that Davis is not one of the 49ers’ cancers, and maybe it’s evident in San Francisco’s lineup.
Despite being thrown out of the last game, Davis still was working with the 49ers starting offense throughout the week and will start Monday night’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. Not only will Davis start, but the 49ers even have made him more a part of their game plan than normal.
So don’t be surprised if Davis has one of his biggest games of the season Monday night.
