Good news … and bad news for the Bills

The good news for the Bills is that Pro Bowl defensive end Aaron Schobel does not need season-ending foot surgery. The bad news is he is expected to miss about a month.
But the Bills will take that; it’s the best of the worst-case scenarios. The fear was that when Schobel went to visit one of the foremost foot specialists in the country, Dr. Robert Anderson in South Carolina, season-ending foot surgery would be recommended. Now Buffalo is hoping to get Schobel back for its playoff push.
The Bills have missed him. Schobel hasn’t played since Oct. 5, and it probably is not coincidental that Buffalo has lost its past two games without its premier defensive player.
