Steelers hope third time’s the charm at punter

Some teams go through plenty of quarterbacks. The Steelers go through plenty of punters.

The Steelers signed their third punter of the season, former Bronco Paul Ernster, and released veteran punter Mitch Berger.

Ernster now will be asked to replace Berger, just as he was asked to replace former Steelers punter Daniel Sepulveda, who suffered a season-ending knee injury July 29.

Ernster struggled to do it then and was released Aug. 30. The Steelers are hoping he will fare better now.
