Quarterback Rex Grossman has long been the center of Bears fans’ scorn over the years. Even when he led the Bears to the Super Bowl. (Or at least, was the starting quarterback.)
And that’s not about to change after Grossman was summoned to replace the suddenly effective — and popular — Kyle Orton. Bears fans jeered Grossman on Sunday, and his teammates didn’t like it. Brian Urlacher, in particular, didn’t like it and he let fans know about it, reports Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune.
- “We’ve got a quarterback who comes in off the bench and leads us to a victory, and they boo him right out of the gate,” he said. “Poor guy. Lucky for him he’s resilient and he came back and led us to two scoring drives. But man, it’s tough.” MORE
