Roethlisberger hurts shoulder vs. Redskins

QB Ben Roethlisberger hurt his throwing shoulder in the first half of the Steelers’ 23-6 win over the Redskins.

Roethlisberger went to the locker room after he scored on a 1-yard run just before halftime and didn’t return.

Backup Byron Leftwich started the second half and led the Steelers on an 8-play, 72-yard drive that ended with a 1-yard Willie Parker touchdown run.

Tight end Heath Miller spent the second half on the sideline. The Associated Press reported he suffered an ankle injury.
