‘Jacked-up’ Witten to try to play vs. Giants

Cowboys Pro Bowl tight end Jason Witten is, in the words of one member of the Dallas organization, “jacked up.”

He has a broken rib and a shoulder injury. Witten intentionally did not test his rib all week in an effort to rest it as much as possible. But he plans to test it Sunday and, if he can tolerate the pain — a pretty big if — then Witten will play.

But a Cowboys official said it is a “50-50 deal that is truly up in the air,” as to whether Witten can go. The team will have a better idea about two hours before the 4:15 kickoff.
