Titans receiver still misses first love

Titans wide receiver Brandon Jones is a playmaker on the only undefeated team in the National Football League. But at the University of Oklahoma, Jones was on the football team and the baseball team, and sometimes he still misses America’s pastime.
Gary Estwick of The Tennessean reports that Jones was teammates with Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Jason Bartlett and Reggie Gene Willits of the Dodgers. He grew up in the same town as free agent outfielder Craig Monroe, who admitted Jones was a better player.
“Colleges jockeyed for Jones’ commitment, and so did the Yankees, who selected him in the 28th round of the amateur draft — even after Jones told the club he planned to go to college. Still, the Yankees tried to lure him away with a signing bonus between $200,000 and $300,000,” his mother, Barnette Jones told Estwick. “Brandon politely declined and wound up at Oklahoma.” More
