Vermeil to be saluted

Dick Vermeil led the St. Louis Rams to a Super Bowl title. On Sunday the franchise will honor Vermeil by adding him to the Ring of Honor in the Edward Jones Dome at halftime of the Rams-Arizona game.

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch explains how former Rams coach Scott Linehan is behind the ceremony.

“Scott Linehan didn’t win many football games for the Rams, certainly not enough to keep his job. But he did leave a parting gift of sorts for St. Louis,” writes Thomas. More
