Collinsworth curious about Denver’s defensive woes

One week from Thursday night, NFL Network broadcasts the first of eight games this season, Cleveland at Denver. So a reporter asked NFL Network analyst Cris Collinsworth what he’s anticipating with Denver cornerback Champ Bailey and Denver linebacker Boss Bailey being out of the lineup.
“Well, perhaps their parents not showing up for the game,” Collinsworth said.
Collinsworth continued addressing Denver’s defense, and there was little funny about his follow-up comments.
“One of the things I’m anxious to talk to Mike Shanahan about, is why can’t this defense ever get good,” Collinsworth said. “What is it over the years that just has not worked out defensively for this team to just be competitive on the defensive side with the ability to score points. It’s going to be an interesting conversation.”
