Cable promotes Gallery for Pro Bowl

The name Robert Gallery brings up painful images for Raider Nation. Or it did, at least. The Raiders drafted Gallery with the second overall selection in the 2004 NFL Draft. A first round that produced Pro Bowl players Larry Fitzgerald, Philip Rivers, Sean Taylor, Kellen Winslow, Roy Williams, DeAngelo Hall, Ben Roethlisberger, Jonathan Vilma, Tommie Harris, Shawn Andrews, Will Smith, Vince Wilfork and Steven Jackson.
All of them, of course, were drafted after Gallery.
Now Raiders coach Tom Cable would like Gallery to join that group according to David White of the San Francisco Chronicle. Gallery has found a home at left guard, after numerous position and coordinator changes. And while Cable concedes that using a No. 2 pick on a left guard isn’t exactly ideal, that shouldn’t discount the progress that Gallery has made to shed the label of being a bust. More
