League voids Rams’ contract with Haslett

The NFL has notified the St. Louis Rams that the contract which would make Jim Haslett the team’s full-time coach at the end of the season if he reached six wins has been voided. The league stepped in because the contract violated the Rooney Rule over hiring practices, and now the team is reworking the deal and will re-submit it to the league. Haslett was named the Rams’ coach on Sept. 29 after the team got off to an 0-4 start under Scott Linehan.
