Election chatter fills Packers locker room

Locker room banter in the NFL is usually limited to the same topics for 17 weeks, but the upcoming presidential election has Green Bay Packers players talking about new issues: gay marriage, taxes and abortion. Lori Nickel of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Packers players have been having healthy debates about those subjects and more in the locker room.

“These Packers know Arizona’s self-proclaimed maverick from the young Illinois senator who could make history,” writes Nickel. “They’ve watched the debates and then have debates themselves after practice and before meetings.”
