Giants’ Burress caps tough week with $45K in fines

Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress was hit with a triple play of fines Friday totaling $45,000:

  • $20,000 for post game comments regarding officiating — specifically, inappropriate comments on officiating.
  • $20,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct — specifically, verbal abuse of the head linesman.
  • $5,000 for throwing the ball in the stands.
