Shockey back at practice for Saints

The Saints got TE Jeremy Shockey back at practice on a limited basis on Thursday after the three-time Pro Bowler sat out the previous day due to his hernia injury. Coach Sean Payton said Shockey’s prospects were “better” in terms of playing on Sunday and said he “looked good” at practice. Shockey appeared to have a setback with the injury in his return last week after missing the previous three games.

Starting center Jonathan Goodwin missed practice for the second straight day, while G Jahri Evans (ankle) and CB Mike McKenzie (knee) took part in full practice.

Chargers WR Chris Chambers was listed as “limited” in practice for the second straight day, although coach Norv Turner said Chambers was able to do more in Thursday’s session. Turner described Chambers’ injury as “ongoing.”

“He thought he felt better,” said Turner. “He did not have a setback from yesterday, so that was positive.”

As expected, RB LaDainian Tomlinson took part in a full practice on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday.
