Holmgren touted to fill 49ers’ post

It might be fitting that the 49ers’ first coach in the post-Mike Nolan era will take place against the Seahawks in San Francisco.

Standing on the opposite sideline will be Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren, a former 49ers assistant and Bay Area native whose name has been brought up as a possibility down the line to guide the 49ers’ franchise.

The buzz in the Bay Area is that the Seahawks’ outgoing coach is just what is needed to massage the mess that has been created in the 49ers’ organization, writes Claire Farnsworth of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. MORE
