File away the statement that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made Monday during a conference call in which he was asked about the future of his head coach, Wade Phillips.
“Absolutely, he’s going to finish the season,” Jones said during a conference call to announce the formation of Legends Hospitality Management LLC, a stadium concessions and merchandising venture. “That isn’t even a remote consideration.”
As long as the Cowboys win, Jones will have no problem honoring his words. If they lose, however, Jones’ words will be remembered and called into question.
