Season over for Pats RB Maroney

The New England Patriots have been without quarterback Tom Brady since Week 1 and will now be minus running back Laurence Maroney for the remainder of the season, the team announced Monday.
The Patriots placed Maroney on injured reserve due to a shoulder problem, which has limited him to just three games and 28 carries this season.
Veteran offensive lineman Stephen Neal was activated after spending time on the reserve/physically-unable-to-perform list.
The Patriots also signed cornerback Mike Richardson to the active roster from the practice squad and released offensive lineman Dan Connolly.
