A can’t-miss day at Soldier Field

So much for that ball-control, defensively dominated black-and-blue division showdown many expected. The 89 combined points made this the highest scoring Bears-Vikings game in the 47-year history of the series (95 all-time games). The 48 points scored by the Bears was their most since a 48-14 win over the Buccaneers on Dec. 7, 1986. The Vikings, on the other hand, scored their most points ever in a losing effort.

It was football as low-budget reality show, a guilty pleasure, a sugar buzz, writes Rick Morrissey of the Chicago Tribune. If you like defense, the Bears’ 48-41 victory over the Vikings mortified you. If you like offense, this game had its way with your funny bone.
