Harris set to visit Vikings

In an effort to bolster their injury-depleted linebacker unit, the Vikings have their eye on free agent Napoleon Harris. Vikings coach Brad Childress said Wednesday that he spoke with Harris on Tuesday night and the former Viking — who was acquired from the Raiders as part of the Randy Moss trade — is due to arrive in Minneapolis today and have a physical with the team.

The Chiefs cut Harris, who played two seasons (2005-06) with the Vikings, on Tuesday. The Vikings are looking for depth in the middle, where starter E.J. Henderson is out for the season with dislocated toes and his replacement, David Herron, is battling injuries. They signed LB Dontarrious Thomas, another former Viking, on Tuesday.
