Lost in the shuffle of the non-trade of TE Tony Gonzalez in Kansas City this week is the pending return of starting QB Brodie Croyle for the Chiefs. Croyle, who has been out since Week 1 with a separated right shoulder, returned to practice last week during the team’s bye week and has looked good in practice this week (video), according to coach Herm Edwards.
“He’s been good,” said Edwards. “Been throwing every day, stayed extra actually yesterday throwing to the receivers. Strong. Not sore. That’s good. He’s excited about coming back and we’re excited about having him back. Excited about having our starting quarterback back after the first game and that’s a good thing.”
