Gonzalez trade watch continues

The Chiefs have fielded trade inquiries on Pro Bowl tight end Tony Gonzalez, but nobody has offered serious value so far.
Of course, that could change in the coming 48 hours with the Tuesday trade deadline rapidly approaching. But the Chiefs are open to dealing Gonzalez for what they deem to be fair value.
It is thought that Gonzalez and Kansas City’s Carl Peterson have discussed the situation and assessed potential trading partners for the Chiefs and landing spots for Gonzalez.
Those could include the New York Giants, Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills. But as front-office member from one of those teams said, “Any team would be interested in Tony Gonzalez.”
Peterson drives a hard bargain, which is why a trade could be so difficult to hammer out. But Gonzalez is the No. 1 name to chart as Tuesday approaches.
