Palmer won’t start vs. Jets

As if there weren’t already enough players out due to injuries this week, fantasy owners now have to deal with another.
Carson Palmer will not start this week against the New York Jets, as he continues to deal with an elbow issue. Ryan Fitzpatrick will make his second start of the season in Palmer’s absence.
Coach Marvin Lewis didn’t rule Palmer out completely, so he could be Fitzpatrick’s backup in the game. But for all intents and purposes, Palmer is useless in fantasy land.
With Fitzpatrick under center, the value of both T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson take a hit. While it’s still hard to sit Houshmandazdeh, Johnson is now even less of an option for most owners.
If you had planned to start Palmer this week, check the waiver wire for a replacement with a good matchup such as Kyle Orton, Gus Frerotte, or even JaMarcus Russell.
