Michael Pittman’s value on the rise

Broncos coach Mike Shanahan has ruled out Selvin Young for Sunday’s game against Jacksonville because of a groin injury. Shanahan also agreed with a reporter earlier in the week who asked him if Michael Pittman could see more carries going forward.

“He ran over some safeties, ran over some corners. Obviously the better you play, the more time you’re going to get,” Shanahan said about his veteran running back.

Put these two bits of information together, and you should be looking to add Pittman to your fantasy team right now. Of course, trying to predict what Shanahan will do with his backfield is impossible, so Andre Hall could see additional work against the Jaguars as well.

As it stands, Pittman should be seen as a viable flex starter in leagues with 12-plus teams. And if you need a running back due to injuries or byes, Hall is well worth consideration.
