Jaguars’ Jones awaits discipline from NFL

By agreeing to complete a nine-month intervention program that includes 136 hours of group therapy and 30 hours of community service, Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones now faces punishment from the NFL.

The league will review the case under the substance abuse policy, though the league never comments as to when that will be.

But the policy calls for discipline, including possible suspension on a first offense, for drug-related violations of law. Typically they are not long suspensions in cases like this. Chances are, if Jones is suspended it would be for one or two games. But ongoing matters like this are usually confidential.
