Gramatica to I.R.; Mehlhaff’s value rises

The New Orleans Saints have placed Martin Gramatica on injured reserve with an injured groin, so rookie Taylor Mehlhaff will take over the kicking duties in New Orleans.
Mehlhaff did perform well in the preseason, and now he’ll be allowed a chance to kick behind one of the league’s more prolific offenses.
There are plenty of kickers on the waiver wire (Jason Elam, John Kasay, Ryan Longwell, Shaun Suisham to name a few) who should be added ahead of him, but Mehlhaff is someone to watch in the weeks to come.
