Brian Westbrook entered Sunday’s game against Washington with a balky ankle. He left with a balky ankle and two fractured ribs.

Eagles coach Andy Reid revealed the news at his Monday press conference, but he didn’t discuss the running back’s status for Week 6.

“We’ll just have to see,” Reid said. “We’ll see how things go here the next few days. He’s sore.”

This is not the first time that Westbrook has dealt with fractured ribs. He missed one game with the same injury in 2004. It’s almost impossible to predict if Westbrook will be sidelined (and if he is, for how long), but this ailment is certain to make life difficult for fantasy leaguers who don’t have Correll Buckhalter.

For now, be prepared to be without Westbrook and hope he can play through the pain against San Francisco.
