Kitna, Orlovsky dinged for Lions

If the Detroit Lions didn’t have enough problems after losing 34-7 on Sunday to fall to 0-4, it looks like both of their top two quarterbacks suffered injuries against the Bears.
Coach Rod Marinelli revealed during his postgame news conference that starter Jon Kitna was pulled at halftime after experiencing back spasms. Kitna was 8-of-16 for 74 yards.
“It started in the first quarter,” Kitna said. “A little back spasm at halftime, it just locked up and really I tried to go back out but I couldn’t really get out.”
Backup Dan Orlovsky played the second half, completing 13 of 23 passes for 97 yards and an interception, but sustained a high ankle sprain.
“We don’t know how bad that is, so that’s where we’re at right now,” said Marinelli.
