Benson to be big part of Bengals’ offense

Cincinnati also did not sign running back Cedric Benson to sit on the bench. It is going to use him, starting Sunday against Dallas.

Right now, the Bengals plan to use Benson on the third series of the game against the Cowboys. Ideally the Bengals would love to get about 40 carries against the Cowboys, with roughly 20 for Benson. But that is in a perfect world, not a realistic world. Still, with such lofty goals, it is clear that Benson already is a significant part of the Bengals offensive plans. They felt they had to do it this way.

Benson’s conditioning this past week was impressive, as was his stamina. He was working hard, hustling and most important, impressing various members of the Bengals organization.
