A day after leaving practice early to have his right knee examined, Saints DT Sedrick Ellis had surgery Friday to repair a torn meniscus and is expected to miss two to four weeks.
Ellis left Thursday’s practice after hearing what he said was “kind of a click” in his knee.
The rookie out of USC had started all four games at defensive tackle for the Saints.
